Located close to Kolkata, Howrah is densely populated district of West Bengal. The railway station of Howrah is the largest in India. Another attraction, the Howrah Bridge, which was constructed during the British era, is one of the largest bridges in the world. Built over river Hooghly, which is flowing between Howrah and Kolkata, the Howrah Bridge connects the two cities.

Later, another bridge called Vidyasagar Setu (Second Hooghly Bridge)was built to connect Howrah and Kolkata.
It is the largest cable-stayed bridge in Asia and third largest in the world with one endpoint near Salimar station. The bridge structured uniquely which supported by 212 wire cable and the length of 457m.
In Howrah, you can visit Botanical Garden, a garden famous for great banyan tree spreads with its roots. This tree is one of the major attractions of the garden, is more than 250 years old and spread over 1.5 hectors area with around 2880 proproroots.The tree has occupied its position in‘Guinness Book of World Record’in the year 21/2/2005.
