Situated beside the bank of river Hooghly, Raichak is a small town in South 24 Parganas. It is hardly 50 kilometers from south Kolkata and 15 Kilometers from Diamond Harbor. Raichak connects Kolkata and Haldia.

There is a beautiful fort built by the Dutch in 18th century. Raichak is a planned city where you can get the feel of countryside, thanks to its greenery, riverside beauty and theme based homes made in resemblance with ancient cottages.
If you are looking for a place to visit over the weekend, Raichak can be the choice. While it enables you to go up close and personal with the Nature, it allows enjoying the luxury of spas, restaurants, resorts, and hotels. And if you are a food lover, you have another strong reason to select this spot. Raichak allows enjoying a wide variety of Indian foods, starting from north Indian cuisine to south Indian cuisine and of course the famous preparations of Bengal.

Diamond Harbour is the charming location within short distance (50 km) from Kolkata. It is located in 24 Parganas District. This place would be the best for leisure trip or weekend tour. Earlier it was known as Hajipur. The name Diamond Harbour has been given by British.
  
 

Digha

“Guys let’s visit to Digha this weekend” – This is exactly how many people on Bengal say when they feel the need for a break. Visiting Digha is a chance for you to explore the beauty of seaside without having to spend a lot of money. The place is located 187 km south west from Kolkata. Digha is also popular for its alluring scenic beauty and soothing weather conditions. The sea coast is covered with casuarinas which enhance the beauty of the place. One of the biggest attractions in Digha is seeing the sunrise and sunset. The sun rays reflecting on the sea look captivating. The sea is calm and sallow. As such, it is quite safe for swimming. Bus service and train services are available to reach Digha from Kolkata and other places of Bengal. Bus services are very frequent which stars from Dharmatala, Kolkata. You can also choose to go by train from Howrah Station. Near to Digha, you can visit Udaipur, Talsari, Mondarmoni, Junput, and Shankarpur.

Udaipur is an amazing place, situated almost 2km west of Dhigha, near to West Bengal and Orissa border. The bus services are available or you can travel by car. 
The most charming inUdaipur is the sea beach joins both the West Bengal and the Orissa. You may drive or walk from one state to another through beaches. Furthermore, you will find the nearby delta, where Subarnarekha River merged into Bay of Bengal.

  Beaches of Talsari are surrounded with palm trees. This is why the place is named as Tal (palm), Sari (rows). The place is nearby Subarnarekha River and 6km from Dhigha, close to Orissa-Bengal border. The place is not as densely populated as Dhigha. If you are adventurous, then obviously you should visit Talsari. The sea water is calm and quite waving with blowing sound of wind. One more rewarding experience is the sunrise and sunset brings the sparks in white sand.

Mandarmoni is the ideal place for relax the weekend. It is located at the northern region of the Bay of Bengal and in east Midnapore district. You can drive to Mandarmoni by the highway connected to Kolkata /Howrah. The most amazing part is you may drive on to the beach.
Junput
 A large and rapidly developing seaside resort village in the state of West Bengal, India. It lies in East Midnapore district and at 
 the northern end of the Bay of Bengal. 

Mandarmoni is connected to Kolkata/Howrah by a highway. From Contai this can be travelled through a place called Chaulkhola. Mandarmoni has a 13 km long beach suitable for use by motor vehicles. It is perhaps the longest beach to allow motor vehicle riding in India. This is a drive-in beach. It is an ideal place to relax, far away from the hustle and bustle of Kolkata. The sunrise and sunset are a treat to the eyes. The peaceful atmosphere brings a sense of relief to one's soul.

Junput

Another beautiful sea site with casuarinas beach is Junput. It’s delightful place for fish lovers. State Government Fisheries Department prepared their fish cultivation research from Junput. It also has a farm for breeding ducks!! There is no such beach in Junput. This the wonderful place for picnic. Junput is 40 km from Digha. The frequent bus services are available. 

Shankarpur


 Shankarpur is a beach village in East Medinipur district of West Bengal. Shankarpur is about 185 km from Kolkata and is touted to have the best beach In Eastern India. Shankarpur, a virgin beach as yet, is a recent discovery. It is a twin beach of Digha, around 14 km from Digha, along the Digha-Contai Road. Shankarpur has to its credit all the advantages of Digha, minus the crowd. Casuarina groves by the side of a gentle sea and good climate round the year make it a popular beach destination.
